Abstract :This investigation targeted to research the antibacterial, antifungal, and antibiofilm activities of Thlaspi perfoliatum L., a plant widely used in Turkish folk medicine. Methanol extract was prepared aboveground parts of the plant and tested against Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus durans) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis, Enterobacter aerogenes) bacteria using disk diffusion, MIC, and MBC methods. Antifungal activity was evaluated against Candida albicans and Candida utilis, and antibiofilm effects were examined, particularly on S. aureus. The extract showed dose-dependent antibacterial activity, with the strongest effects observed against S. aureus and E. aerogenes. Significant antifungal activity was detected at higher concentrations, and the extract also inhibited biofilm formation by S. aureus. These findings suggest that T. perfoliatum contains bioactive compounds capable of inhibiting microbial growth and biofilm formation, supporting its traditional medicinal use. The methanol extract of Thlaspi perfoliatum demonstrated antibacterial, antifungal, and antibiofilm properties, highlighting its potential as a natural antimicrobial agent
