Abstract :Although the modern medicine has been progressed so fast in the last years, the communities stilI have te traditional beliefs and practices. The traditional beliefs and practices are mainly origined from the wiIIingness of the community to control their own environment, wealth, health and lives. Traditional beliefs and practices may have positive and negative effects on the health. Health service providers should be awere on the traditional beliefs and practices in the community. The community should be convinced to quit especially the harmful traditional practices in their daily lives. But, the community can be encouraged to keep the traditional practices which effects positively the health by the health sector. In this artiele, it is tried to define some traditional practices and their beliefs under the traditional practices which are effecting children health in some parts of Turkey.
