Abstract :Despite political controversies during the First World War, there had been little recrimination between Turkeyand Gennany after de feat in 1918. Whatever emotional hostility remained in both countries was directed against the victorious Allied powers which imposed humiliating peace tenns upon the vanquished. Under these circumstances it was not difficult for the Weimar Republic to regain the friendship and contidence of Turkey.
