Abstract :This paper, discusses the influence of John Dewey`s visit to Turkey, his rcport on the Turkish educational system and the Turkish educators by using especially the Turkish newspapers of that period. Consequently, invitation of Dewey presentcd as an indication of the desire of Atatürk for the establishment of democratic culture through education.
