Abstract :Chambers of commerce and industry are institutions that play a role in the local economic development of a city. As a non-govermental organization, chambers of commerce and industry can operate as effective institutions in terms of providing opinion leadership and initiating policy making by conveying demands from producers to the government. These organizations also support the creation of a governance culture in cities through their coordinated contacts with organized industrial zones, free zones and regional development agencies within the region. Financial loses experienced after natural disasters also negatively affect the chambers of commerce and industry, where the heart of the economy beats, and their member companies. For this reason, chambers of commerce and industry have undertaken the task of initiating the improvement works to be carried out in cities in extraordinary situations such as disasters and economic crises. In this study, the role of Malatya Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be tried to be explained in the efforts to revitalize the province of Malatya, which suffered serious socioeconomic losses in the February 6, 2023 Earthquakes. In the conclusion of the study, the importance of the chambers of commerce and industry, as a local agent, will be revealed as a regulation tool that eliminates the destruction experienced after disasters. In the study in which a literature review is made, post-earthquake economic regulations will be revealed in the light of news from the press and information obtained from the Chambers’s Activity Reports.
