Abstract :The reason for the development of nursing models is to distinguish nursing from medicine. When nursing models are used, relationships between metaparadigms are established. Relationships between individuals, the environment, health and nursing based on nursing models allow associating theoretical knowledge with data about patients and planning appropriate interventions systematically. Using models shapes how nurses think to achieve desirable outcomes of nursing care. This requires working with patients rather than working for patients and facilitates holistic approach towards individuals. Despite the necessity to use nursing models, they are not used as frequently as expected. It is noted that it was necessary to use clinical examples to explain nursing models, which would increase the use of the models. In this article, Neuman’s Systems Models is explained by using the model in nursing care of a baby with pneumonia
