Abstract :Aim: It is planned to determine the reasons of transition and transition time of mothers with 6 month-old babies for transition to complementary foods. Patients and Methods: The present study designed as a descriptive study was performed in Aksehir within the period of 01 April-31 May 2010. At the planning stage, the necessary written permissions from Health Group Presidency of the Region have been obtained, before the the onset of the study As the study was based on voluntary participation approvals has been taken from the mothers. Two hundred and twenty mothers with 6 month-old babies selected by simple random sampling method from primary, secondary and tertiary health centers and the data obtained from questionnaires were analyzed with the SPSS-17. Results: 83,6% of the mothers were between 20-35 old years. 97% of mothers were housewives who have been graduated from secondary school or with lower level of education.The relationship between the level of education and employment status of mothers was variable p
