Abstract :Purpose: It is intended to measure the impact of television programs related to health for individuals, who suffer from overweight and obesity, in developing attitudes and beliefs towards obesity. In the study, it is also examined whether socio-demographic characteristics of individuals, that have problem with obesity, is effective in performing preventive health behaviors or not. Patients and Methods: Survey was being carried out on overweight and obese individuals, who admitted to health facilities operating in the province of Sakarya. In the study, Obesity Health Belief Model Scale, developed by Dedeli ve Fadıloğlu 2011 was used. Six questions about televised health programs was asked. The process of data collection, that was started in January of 2014, was terminated in March of 2014.
