Abstract :Assumed to be the strategic partners of the organizations, human resource, besides having particular role behaviors, is gaining more importance in terms of successes of the organizations with their efforts towards increasing organizational efficiency. In a highly competitive environment, organizations’ qualified labor force and the level of contribution of this labor force determines the organizations’ future. In this context, organizational citizenship behavior begins to hold an important position in human resource management and organizational behavior studies. Organizational citizenship behavior refers to the behavioral roles which are willingly performed by workers in the interest of organizations, beyond the identified job descriptions. In this article, the aspects of organizational citizenship behavior in management literature and influences over organizations are discussed and raising awareness for further researches is aimed
