Abstract :One of the primary elements of continued professionalism in nursing is undoubtedly the need to keep abreast of the science evolving and the scientific methods used to evaluate the progress. Research is one of the most fundamental tools of scientific development. In this review, is examined how the use of research in continuing nursing professionalism, both in other nations as well as in Turkey, has evolved historically and how developments in the science and pratice of nursing have influenced the rise of and need for continual research in nursing.
