Abstract :Purpose: Trigger factors for migraine attacks are usually identified such as hunger, dehydration, changes in weather and bright light. Some of our patients with migraine had reported that long and continuous smartphone use triggered their migraine attacks. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the impact of smartphone overuse on the frequency and severity of the attacks in patients with migraine without aura as a trigger factor. Materials and Methods: Three hundred and one consecutive newly diagnosed patients with normal physical and neurological examinations, who fulfill the criteria of migraine without the aura of The International Classification of Headache Disorders 2013 ICHD-III beta version , were enrolled in this study. Socio-demographical characteristics of patients were recorded. To evaluate the disability and severity of migraine, MIDAS and VAS were used. Smartphone overuse was assessed by Smartphone Addiction Scale SAS .
