Abstract :Making population projections in the analysis process of spatial planning is important for making healthy decisions for the future. In the study, the population of the city of Izmit for the years 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010 at 10-year intervals, as a basis, the population of 2020 and 2030 were calculated using the Least Squares Method insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(parabolic and linear);, Exponential Increase, Combined Interest, Iller Bank methods, and the results were compared. As a result, it was determined that Iller Bank, Compound Interest, and Exponential Increase methods gave more realistic results.
