Anahtar kelimeler: Musculus subclavus posticus; Torasik outlet sendromu; Musculus subclavius; Plexus brachialis ABSTRACT Musculus subclavius is an accessory muscle located between the first cartilage rib and the scapula, adjacent to important structures such as arteria subclavia, vena subclavia and plexus brachialis. In the laboratory of anatomy department, a variation was found on the left side of the 60 years old male cadaver. The existence of the musculus subclavius posticus is clinically important for the adjacent structures. This may cause thoracic outlet syndrome, compression of the vessels responsiple for the blood supply and branches of the plexus brachialis responsible for the innervation of the upper extremity. The knowledge of the location of this rarely observed variation according to the literature is important for radiological and surgical procedures.
