Abstract :Aim; Thermal power plant coal plant employees face many hazards and risks due to the environment they work in, and are therefore exposed to various events such as occupational diseases as well as occupational accidents. Therefore, healthy living awareness and health literacy level are more important for these individuals than anyone else. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between healthy life awareness and health literacy levels of thermal power plant coal workers. Method; The population of the study consisted of employees working in thermal power plant coal enterprises located in the Aegean region of our country. Personal information form, Healthy Living Awareness Scale and Health Literacy Scale were used as data collection tools. Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Spearman correlation analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results; According to the findings obtained from the research results; it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the level of education and the level of healthy life awareness, and there was a statistically significant difference between marital status, alcohol use and years of professional experience and health literacy levels (p˂0.05). In addition, a positive, statistically significant and weak relationship was found between the level of healthy living awareness and the level of health literacy. Conclusion; Studies should be increased to increase the levels of healthy living awareness and health literacy, and suggestions were made to conduct awareness trainings for employees.
