Abstract :Problem behavior refers to behaviors that are developmentally inappropriate, harmful to oneself or others, and systematically repeated. Such behaviors have a negative impact on the learning environment. The purpose of this study is to identify the challenges faced by preschool teachers working in inclusive/integration environments and the strategies they use to manage problem behaviors. To address this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 preschool teachers. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis and discussed in the context of the existing literature. The analysis yielded a total of 5 themes and 31 sub-themes. These themes were categorized under two main areas: perceived challenges and intervention strategies. Exploration of the themes revealed that teachers faced difficulties for many different reasons, such as inadequate physical/environmental resources in their classrooms, difficulties in collaboration processes, and limitations in interventions for problem behaviors. Furthermore, a key finding was that teachers mostly reported feeling inadequate and needing support when working with children with special needs
