Abstract :The effect of origami on gifted students, who possess characteristics such as rapid learning, divergent thinking, a high level of curiosity, and creativity, has not been sufficiently investigated. Accordingly, this study aimed to determine the effect of origami on gifted students’ beliefs and attitudes toward geometry. The study employed a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design, which is a quantitative research method. The study group consisted of 31 gifted students studying in different groups (support and individual talent recognition programs) at a science and art center in Türkiye. These students were at the fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade levels. Instruction with origami was implemented for six weeks, two class hours per week, within relevant geometry themes appropriate to the grade levels of the participating students. During the implementation, the geometric topics and concepts related to the origami models produced were discussed and examined. Data were collected using the Geometry Belief Scale and the Geometry Attitude Scale. The data collection instruments were administered to the study group as a pretest before the intervention and as a posttest at its completion. To test the normality assumption required for parametric analyses, skewness and kurtosis values were examined, and it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. The obtained data were analyzed using the paired samples t-test in the SPSS program. In conclusion, the study revealed that the effect of origami on gifted students’ beliefs and attitudes toward geometry was significant. In line with the findings, various recommendations that could contribute to the education of gifted individuals were developed. Keywords : Özel (üstün) yetenekli öğrenci, Geometriye yönelik inanç, Geometriye yönelik tutum, Origami
