Abstract :Aim: The aim of this descriptive and correlational study is to examine the relationship between nurses’ counseling and problem-solving skills and their job satisfaction levels. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted with 128 nurses working in a public hospital located in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. Data were collected using the Nurse Information Form, the Counseling Skills Scale, the Problem-Solving Inventory, and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. Results: When the correlation analysis between nurses’ counseling skills, problem-solving skills, and job satisfaction scores was examined, a positive and very weak correlation was found between problem-solving skills and external satisfaction, a sub-dimension of the job satisfaction scale (r = 0.178, p = 0.044 < 0.05). Conclusion: In our study, no significant relationship was found between counseling skills, problem-solving, and job satisfaction; however, nurses who perceived themselves as competent in counseling demonstrated higher problem-solving skills than those who did not. Keywords : Danışmanlık becerileri, İş doyumu, Hemşirelik, Problem çözme becerileri
