Abstract :Kurdish journalism began in 1898 with the Kurdistan newspaper and continued with publications such as Roji Kurd and Hetawî Kurd. Many Kurdish intellectuals wrote their opinions in these publications. Initially, Kurdish intellectuals, who did not see the future of the Kurds as different from the future of the Ottoman Empire, took part in organizations such as the İttihad Terakki, which considered all the peoples living in the Ottoman Empire as Ottomans and fought for the liberation of the Ottoman Empire. Considering the writings and activities of Kurdish intellectuals before the First World War, their Ottoman consciousness is clearly visible. Many Kurdish youth and Kurdish intellectuals joined the Ottoman side in the First World War and their journalistic activities were suspended for four years. Four years later, the Ottomans withdrew from the war after the Armistice of Mondros. However, both the Ottomans and the Kurds changed after the war. During the Armistice period, the sense of Ottomanism weakened and the sense of Kurdishness began to manifest itself more openly. The aim of intellectuals was to seek the rights of the people through associations and publications. Jîn writers also wrote historical texts to investigate their own history and historical roots. The aim of this study is to analyze the historical writings in Jîn Magazine from the perspective of history writing and to reveal the unique characteristics of these writings.
