Abstract :This review on Cansu Canseven’s (ed.) Editörlük Zor Zanaat: Editörlerle Söyleşiler (2024) argues that Canseven’s volume is a foundational text for Turkish publishing studies in that it addresses a critical gap by making visible the “invisible labor” of the editor. The review evaluates the book’s interview-based methodology as both its main strength and its main limitation. The strength lies in its polyphonic methodology, which gathers diverse perspectives from eleven leading editors from different corners of the literary world. Editörlük Zor Zanaat explores the complex intellectual and emotional dynamics of the author-editor relationship, touches upon the economic realities of the publishing industry and becomes the voice of a unique set of editorial practices that are specific to the Turkish context. However, the interview-based methodology also brings about a structural limitation in that a lack of a singular, sustained analytical argument cannot be maintained. Furthermore, the lack of certain editorial practices, such as children\\\'s literature, is also noticeable in this multi-voiced book. The review concludes that Editörlük Zor Zanaat is an essential cultural document, serving as a vital pedagogical tool for a new generation of editors and a crucial archive of professional practice. Keywords : editörlük, editörlük mesleği, yayıncılık, kitap yayınlama, edebiyat çalışmaları
