Abstract :The Havza district of Samsun province is home to rare settlements that have preserved their cultural, socioeconomic, and architectural heritage through to the present day. The characteristics of these settlements are considered cultural heritage and should be preserved to guide future generations. In this context, the study was conducted on 10 traditional houses located in Bahçelievler and Ilıca neighborhoods. Five houses were selected from each neighborhood that are representative of unique construction techniques and material usage. Recent reinforced concrete structures were excluded from this study. The physical assessments of the settlements were conducted through on-site inspections and photographic documentation. The traditional houses were analyzed in terms of construction techniques, materials, and structural conditions. The study concluded that preserving the existing architectural fabric and improving current conditions through traditional construction techniques is essential.
