Abstract :Turkish folk dancing was an important factor in the formation of Turkish nation state. Subsequent to local folk dancing groups, Turkish folk dancing is a phenomenon which spread all educational institutions and related organizations via contests to which college students organized under associations participated. In these course of time, folk dances which were brought to cities from rural areas, had been exposed to many positive or negative influences.
