Abstract :The study was carried out in order to investigate smoking prev - alence, smoking behaviors and attitudes toward smoking among phy - sicians, dentists, nurses and midwifes working in Manisa hospitals. Totaly 340 subjects of 123 phsicians, 16 dentists and 201 nurses and midwifes. The percentages of smokers esere 58.99% for physicians and dentist, and 56.77% for nurses and midwifes. The majority of phisicians, dentists, nurses and midwifes agreed with the statement that they should be more active than they have been in speaking to lay groups about smoking, Subjects in all groups acknowledge the importance of their role as a counsellor and educator and believe in the necessity of legal regulations.
