Abstract :Motivation plays a critical role in enhancing the effectiveness of learning processes, particularly in teacher education. Supporting the intrinsic motivation of prospective teachers promotes deeper engagement in learning and contributes to their professional development. This study aims to examine the motivation levels of pre-service teachers studying in various departments of education faculties across different public universities in Türkiye, in relation to several demographic and institutional variables. A total of 756 pre-service teachers enrolled in pre-service education programs at education faculties located in Türkiye’s seven geographical regions were selected using proportional cluster sampling. Data were collected through the “Adult Motivation Scale” developed by Tulunay Ateş and İhtiyaroğlu (2019). The internal consistency coefficients for the scale were calculated as 0.91 for intrinsic motivation, 0.78 for extrinsic motivation, and 0.92 for the overall scale, indicating high reliability. The findings revealed that the pre-service teachers demonstrated a high level of overall motivation, as well as high levels in both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation sub-dimensions. Additionally, motivation levels showed statistically significant differences based on the university and academic department, while no significant differences were observed in relation to gender, academic program, or year of study. Keywords : Öğretmen adayı, devlet üniversitesi, eğitim fakültesi, güdülenme
