Abstract :This study aims to highlight the global extent of social, psychological and political impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic with a critical perspective. The method followed in this study is primarily to examine the impacts of the strategies implemented within the scope of combating the pandemic on social structures around the World, and subsequently, the restrictions which are implemented in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey (explained by studies done in this area in the frame of the outbreak's social, psychological and political impacts on the public structure). The main feature that distinguishes COVID-19 from the pandemics combated in the past, is that it is the first global epidemic in which digitalization was used to combat the epidemic. In this study, it is revealed that this feature, which makes the COVID-19 pandemic unique, has positive impacts on the social and political structure of societies as well as negative impacts, and it is aimed to address these impacts with concrete examples.
