Problems Faced by Primary School Teachers While Teaching Problem-Solving Skills and Suggestions for Solution

Abstract :The aim of this study is to determine problems faced by primary teachers while teaching students’ ability to solve problem, identify causes, and suggest solutions to solve these problems. The study has a qualitative design. Study group of this study was consisted of 60 primary school teachers working in elementary schools in Kırşehir city center. Participants were selected with convenient random sampling method. The data of the study was collected through interview form with open-ended questions.  In the result of the study, it is determined that the most common problems teachers facing while teaching problem-solving skills are student based. It is figured out that the most important problems are grouped into three groups as "student-based", "program-based" and "teacher-based
