Abstract :Sığırlarımızda Hypoderma bovis (de geer, 1776) ve keçilerimizde Hypoderma aegagri (Brauer, 1863) yaygın olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada bilhassa Hypoderma bovis'in sığır verimleri üzerinde sebep olduğu ekonomik kayıplar tesbit edilmiştir. 1960 yılındaki istatistiki malumat üzerinden hesap edilen bu kayıplar, hayvanların kilo almalarında 257.441.805 TL.; et istihsalinde 20.266.074 TL.; süt te 221.227.330 TL.; yaş deride 6.207.508 TL.; ve deri sanayiinde ise 41.619.864 TL.; olmak üzere cem'an 546.762.581 TL. olarak tesbit edilmiştir.
