Abstract :Bu araştırmanın amacı, Gölbaşı ilçe merkezinde ikamet eden vatandaşların sosyo-ekonomik profilini ve ilçenin sosyo-ekonomik sorunlarını tespit etmektir. İlçenin mevcut sosyo-ekonomik yapısı da ortaya konulmaya çalışılmış olup Gölbaşı ilçesinin daha fazla gelişmesini sağlayacak uygulamalar için ilgililere bilimsel destek sağlamak hedeflenmiştir. Gölbaşı ilçe merkezinde oturan 400 kişiye anket uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS-25.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Konum olarak Gölbaşı ilçesi Akdeniz Bölgesi ile Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi arasında yer almakta ve bu iki bölgeyi hem karayolu hem de demiryolu ulaşımı ile birbirine bağlamaktadır. Bu konum ilçeye stratejik bir avantaj sağlamaktadır. Gölbaşı ilçesinin bu stratejik konumu, ilçe olduktan sonra her ne kadar hızlı gelişmesine katkıda bulunsa da bu stratejik avantajın daha sonraki yıllarda fırsata çevrilemediği anlaşılmıştır. Çalışmada; ilçe merkezinde oturan vatandaşların sosyo-ekonomik durumlarının çok iyi olmadığı, ilçenin de başta işsizlik olmak üzere yetersiz sanayileşme, plansız kentleşme, sosyal yaşam alanlarının yetersizliği, yöresel ürünlerin markalaşamaması gibi birçok sosyo-ekonomik sorununun olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Abstract The aim of this research is to determine the socio-economic profile of the citizens living in Gölbaşı district center and the socio-economic problems of the district. The current socio-economic structure of the district has also been tried to be put forward and it is aimed to provide scientific support to the concerned people for the applications that will enable the further development of Gölbaşı district. A questionnaire was applied to 400 people living in Gölbaşı district center. SPSS-25.0 package program was used for data analysis. According to the results of the analysis of the data obtained from the survey, a large part of the participants living in the district center had poor income; however, it is understood that most of them own houses and cars. The most important socioeconomic problems of the district are as follows; unemployment, inadequate industrialization, unplanned urbanization, inadequacy of social living spaces, nonbranding of local products and fragmentation of the land acquired by inheritance. At the end of the analysis, despite the existence of socio-economic problems of the district, the number of those who are happy to live in the district and are satisfied with their lives is another important issue.
