Abstract :İbn Derrâc el-Kastalî’nin şiirinde methedilen portresi büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Özellikle prens, bakan, komutan ve yargıçlar gibi toplumun ve devletin önde gelenlerinden methettiği grupların sayısı yirmi dokuzu bulmaktadır. Dolayısıyla biz de bu çalışmamızda şu iki soru soruyu sorup cevaplarını bulmaya çalışacağız. Bu iki temel sorudan biricisi : İbn Derrâc’ın methetme amacı nasıl medih kasidesine dönüştü ? İkincisi ise : Bu kadar çok övülen kimse arasında, İbn Derrâc’ın şiirinde methedilen kişinin portresi nasıl oluştu ve bu portrenin ayırt edici özellikleri nelerdir ?
