Abstract :Lymphedema is a condition caused by the accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the interstitial space due to inadequate lymph drainage. The most important factors for treatment are preventing the development of lymphedema in the early stages and preventing and slowing down its progression if it has developed. Successful treatment of lymphedema requires a long and challenging process and requires a multidisciplinary approach. Nutrition is one of the main components in the therapeutic management of vascular diseases. It is thought that dietary therapies that provide ideal body weight control, support intestinal health, prevent the development of edema, prevent overload increase in the lymphatic system, and support the immune system can be considered one of the treatment components of disease management. This review aims to examine the results of the studies in the literature on the nutritional treatment of lymphedema.
