Abstract :Bacasız sanayi diye tabir edilen turizm, kalkınma çabası içinde olan toplumların umut bağladığı bir döviz kaynağıdır. Turizm kaynaklarımızın rasyonel bir şekilde kullanılmasıyla ülkemiz kalkınmasında önemli bir paya sahip olacağı kuşkusuzdur.Ülkemizin turizm açısından mevcut potansiyeli göz önüne alındığında hiç de küçümsenmeyecek kaynaklara sahip olduğunu görüyoruz. Araştırma konumuzu teşkil eden Side Kasabası mevcut turizm potansiyeli açısından muazzam çekiciliklere sahiptir. Bu özelliğin iyi değerlendirilip, gerekli alt yapı hizmetleri ve çeşitli yatırımlar yöreyi turizm açısından daha da önemli hale getirecektir. Bu durum, hem yöre hem de ülke ekonomisine önemli katkılar sağlayacaktır.
