Abstract :Kelime, anlatılmak istenen düşüncelerin göstergesidir. Bireyin sahip olduğu kelime sayısı, onun anlama ve anlatma yeteneğini etkiler. Bu nedenle kelime öğretiminin, dil eğitiminde ayrı bir yeri olduğu söylenebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kelime öğretiminde dilin kullanım örneklemelerinden yararlanmanın önemini, XI. yüzyılda Türkçe öğretmek amacıyla kaleme alınan Divanü Lügat-it-Türk\`ten hareketle ortaya koymaktır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Türkçe eğitimi, Divanü Lügat-it-Türk, kelime, örnek metin. Abstract A word is an indicator of ideas wanted to be told. The numbers of words that an individual has got affect her understanding and expressing ability. For this reason, there is a different place of word instruction in language education. The purpose of this work puts forward the importance of benefiting from giving an example of language in word instruction by beginning from Divanü Lügat-it-Türk which was written in order to teach Turkish in 11th century.
