Abstract :The acceleration of technology and industrialization in every area of life has led to major advances. Today continuous growth of the world population, has led to rapidly increasing energy deficit. In last forty yearss, nature suffered a serious damage because of energy production activities in several types. Climate change, especially in recent years, environmental issues and rising energy demand has been a major problem. In this study, the development of nuclear energy in the world and in Turkey, the existing nuclear power plants features, advantages, and disadvantages were given information about.
