EVALUATING ONLINE JOB SEARCH PLATFORMS WITH ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS

Abstract :Decision making is a process where an arbitrary person can use in a day so many times. It is also a branch of Management Sciences which refers to the selection of the best alternative between many of them for the interests of the businesses. Moreover, Multicriteria Decision Making (MCDM) processes have been developed to make more scientific decisions since the 1950s by using multiple criteria, even if some of them conflict with each other. One of the most popular and practical MCDM methods is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is based on pairwise comparison of the factors of the problem and modelling them on the matrices then gives a compromise ranking of the alternatives according to their weights that are assigned them after the judgments of Decision Makers. In this case, the ranking of online job searching platforms has been done by using AHP which may hold to make a comparison of them for the policy makers on the unemployment problem as well as the job seekers and employers. With the rapid evolution of whole life to online platforms and the huge digitalization era, the struggle with unemployment, one of the most common problems of economic system, has been handled in online platforms also. This process is a part of digitalization in the meaning of adaptation of job searching channels to the internet. The problem handled in 4 main criteria adopted from the literature of the solution of selection problems of social media channels with MCDM methods. The alternatives are determined as the mostly popular online job searching platforms in Turkey as LinkedIn, Instagram, Kariyer.net, and İŞKURweb. According to results the LinkedIn is at the top (48%) followed by Kariyer.net (35%), İŞKURweb (%9) and Instagram (%7) hope to be useful modelling of online job search channels for the all-party users.
