Abstract :TrabzonCancer takes place as an important health issue nowadays. Formingcancer control works and putting strategic action plans into practicebecame important because it ranked as a second death reason andthe density of its case increased. Examining geographical variationsof cancer cases in time together with environmental factors isnecessary to develop control strategies struggling cancer and to putcancer control programmes into practice. Creating statistical mapsis necessary for obtaining information about its cases in which regionwith which frequency, examining the distribution of cancer typesgeographically, and determining that which region has the highestdensity of its case. A GIS application was performed in order toexamine the distribution of cancer types geographically. In order todetermine cancer density figures, cancer incidence values ofadministrative units were calculated according to local census data.After then cancer density map was produced. Finally, examiningrelationship between cancer types and geography, statistical mapsare spatially produced by the aid of SPSS software
