Abstract :In this paper, the control points which form a basis for engineeringapplications and the highway agency utilize in geodetic measurementsare also observed by GPS method. The results from the comparisonof the coordinates are tested and evaluated for their accuracy andreliability. The outcome from this evaluation has led to the conclusionthat these control points need to be updated by using new technologies. Thus, in the engineering surveying applications, it is understoodthat the new specification rules which were prepared in 2003 accordingto the international surveying specifications must be applied to theTurkish Large Scale Mapping Specifications
