Abstract :The core of Islamic creed is surely ascertained by revelation and what is not revealed through this way can not oblige people. Even revelation is open to be interpreted. Religious text does not stand alone, it does not carry its own meaning on its shoulders, it needs to be situated in a context, and presuppositions are as actively at work in the field of understanding. Considering this, we can trace the roots of how revelation became din/religion, religion became diyânah (the way of practising and observing the dîn). It is evident that in this process culture, way of life and personal understanding of people have had undeniable effect. Here in this paper this process and its consequences are dealt with.
