EXPLORING THE VUCA FACTORS THROUGH FOCUSING ON INDIVIDUALS’ PERCEPTIONS WITHIN COMPETITIVE AND INNOVATIVE BUSINESSES

Abstract :Since the 2000s, the interdependency of globalization and uncontrolled technological advancements have created a competitive VUCA environment. Hereby, competitive businesses have adopted the VUCA factors as a \\\"new normal\\\" that companies inevitably have to cope. Recently, the VUCA factors have been investigated through qualitative research methods within leadership, organization, and management theories. Therefore, exploring the VUCA\\\'s interconnected structure through quantitative research using individual perception-based scales was utilized by researchers. Data gathered from 346 respondents both in Turkey and Europe were analyzed through SEM and multi-group analysis. As envisaged by VUCA scholars, findings validated that VUCA factors have negative and positive correlations among and constitute the VUCA structure as a whole. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the VUCA structure possesses two groups: \\\"the outcomes of today\\\'s actualized realities\\\" (volatility & uncertainty) and \\\"the outcomes of tomorrow\\\'s possible realities\\\" (complexity & ambiguity) by considering stereotypes of the VUCA within innovative business environments.
