Abstract :This article provides a theoretical analysis of the role of teacher–student collaboration in the development of students’ research skills within the modern higher education system. It emphasizes that in today’s rapidly evolving information society, it is no longer sufficient for students to merely absorb existing knowledge; they must also be capable of conducting independent research and generating new insights. In this context, teacher–student collaboration is considered a key component of the learning process. The article explores the theoretical foundations of collaboration, its impact on the development of research competencies, various models of cooperation (traditional, interactive, and digital), and the challenges encountered in this process. It also explains how such collaboration contributes to the development of essential skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. The findings reveal that teacher–student collaboration increases students’ interest in scientific activity, encourages independent inquiry, and enhances the overall quality of the educational process. While the article is theoretical in nature, it also highlights the importance of future empirical studies to further explore the topic in depth. Keywords : öğretmen–öğrenci iş birliği, yükseköğretim, araştırma becerileri, iş birliği, eleştirel düşünme
