Abstract :Compulsory health insurance is a fundamental social mechanism that ensures equal and accessible healthcare for the population. This system is aimed at regulating healthcare services by the state and providing citizens with appropriate medical services. The article analyzes the legal principles of compulsory health insurance in the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as discussing the current state and potential development directions of these principles. Furthermore, new proposals have been made to address loopholes in the legislation regarding the key principles of compulsory health insurance. These proposals aim to enhance the system\\\'s effectiveness and increase citizens\\\' awareness about health insurance. Based on the conclusion of the article, improving the legal principles of the compulsory health insurance system and applying new approaches may positively impact the development of Azerbaijan\\\'s healthcare sector and the improvement of citizens\\\' access to medical services.
