Abstract :This article explores the historical and institutional development of museum work in Azerbaijan under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It demonstrates how, through his strategic cultural policies, museums in Azerbaijan were transformed from static repositories into dynamic cultural institutions engaged in education, research, and the promotion of national heritage. The study examines the expansion of the museum network, the founding of new museums, and the modernization of existing ones in line with international standards. It also highlights the importance of state-level support in financing, training of museum professionals, and the integration of innovative technologies. The findings suggest that Heydar Aliyev’s museological policies played a pivotal role in the preservation and promotion of Azerbaijani cultural identity, contributed to the growth of cultural tourism, and laid a foundation for international cultural collaboration.
