Abstract :This article analyzes the main directions of the foreign policy principles of President Ilham Aliyev during the 2003–2013 period. The primary focus of the study is on Azerbaijan’s energy diplomacy, its relations with regional states, and its policy of cooperation with Western countries and international organizations. The purpose of the article is to provide a scientifically grounded explanation of the content and outcomes of the diplomatic approaches developed during this period, as well as to demonstrate how these approaches laid the foundation for subsequent achievements, particularly in the 2013–2023 phase. By employing an analytical approach, the study offers a comprehensive evaluation of the subject in both structural and substantive terms.
