WORKPLACE CYBER BULLYING IN ACCOMMODATION BUSINESSES, PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Abstract :One of the most important developments in our world today is the Internet, which is an electronic communication network. Thanks to the Internet, rapid access to information, new information generation, instant sharing and storage are provided. Thanks to the internet, individuals make friends in social environments and express their feelings and thoughts without hesitation and without fear of recognition. The increase in the usage areas of internet technology day by day brings with it a number of negativities. Cyberbullying, which is one of these negativities and has started to increase in recent years, has become the preferred subject of scientific research. Today, it is observed that cyberbullying behaviors manifest themselves in different ways. With the widespread use of information and communication technologies, the type of bullying has changed into a different dimension, and the type of cyberbullying has negative effects not only on young people but also on employees. However, technology has begun to be used for aggressive behavior. It is thought that cyberbullying, which is an important problem for both young people and adults, will be classified as behavioral disorders in the future. In the study, the data obtained by using the questionnaire technique were analyzed and the findings were interpreted by creating a structural equation modeling. As a result of the research, it has been determined that cyberbullying, which occurs in the workplace in general, negatively affects the psychological well-being of the employees and their emotional intelligence levels for their own emotions. Cyberbullying, which negatively affects the psychological and physical well-being of the employees, causes a loss of performance in the employees and this leads to a decrease in productivity in the organization. In addition, since the emotional intelligence scores of the employees who are exposed to cyberbullying decrease, their thinking skills decrease and they have problems in managing their emotions. Again, in this case, it reflects negatively on the organization. In general terms, as a result of the research, it was determined that cyberbullying has a negative relationship with psychological well-being and emotional intelligence, and it was found that cyberbullying is a negative predictor of psychological well-being and emotional intelligence. In other words, a high level of cyberbullying causes low levels of psychological well-being and emotional intelligence.
