Abstract :Bu makalenin amacı Giorgio Agamben’in, Herman Melville tarafından yazılmış bir metin olan, Bartleby okumasını tartışmaktır. Bunu yaparken, Aristoteles’in potansiyel kavramına dair tartışması teorik kalkış noktası olacaktır. Bu eksenden hareketle makale Agamben’in Aristoteles’in potansiyel kavramına yaklaşımını nasıl açıkladığına ışık tutmaya çalışacaktır. Makalenin ana argümanı; Agamben’in Bartleby’sinin, Aristoteles’in edimselin potansiyele olan önceliğine vurgu yapan perspektifini ters yüz ettiğidir.
