Abstract :Herpes simpleks virüsü (HSV), akut, sporadik viral ensefalitlerin en sık tanımlanan etkenidir. Tedavi edilmeyen olgularda mortalite %70'in üzerindedir. HSV ensefaliti tanısında, kullanılan en duyarlı mikrobiyolojik yöntem, polimeraz zincir reaksiyonu (PCR) ile HSVDNA saptanmasıdır. Bu yazıda, ateş, nöbet geçirme şikayetleri ile başvuran, PCR ile HSV-DNA pozitifliği saptanan, BBT bulguları herpes ensefalitini destekleyen, bir olgu sunuldu
