Abstract :Peter Ackroyd’un, Türkçe’si ile Büyük Londra Yangını, The Great Fire of London adlı romanı (1982), o ana kadar reklâm ve belgesel çalışmış bir filmcinin ilk sanat filmini çekme çabaları üzerine odaklanırken, art alanda çağdaş İngiliz toplumunun sıkıntılarını yansıtır ve toplumsal bunalımın sanat ve sanatçı üzerine olabilecek kötücül etkisini örnekler. Bu temanın sergilenişinde ölüm, kullanılan başat metaforlardan biridir
