Abstract :The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between athletes’ sport commitment and their value orientations, as well as to determine differences across demographic variables. A correlational survey design was employed. The sample consisted of 290 athletes actively engaged in sports in Ankara, who participated voluntarily. Data were collected through a Personal Information Form, the Sport Commitment Scale, and the Athlete Value Orientation Scale. Independent samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analyses were conducted. Findings indicated that female athletes scored significantly higher than male athletes in Value Orientation, Competitiveness, and Sportsmanship. Team sport athletes demonstrated higher levels of sport commitment compared to individual sport athletes, whereas no significant differences were found according to national athlete status. Significant differences were observed across some age and education groups. Correlation analysis revealed moderate-to-strong positive associations between sport commitment and athlete value orientations. Multiple regression analysis showed that responsibility, competitiveness, and adherence to rules significantly predicted sport commitment. In conclusion, athletes’ sport commitment is strongly associated with their value orientations, and particularly responsibility, competitiveness, and adherence to rules emerged as key factors enhancing commitment to sport. Keywords : Spora Bağlılık, Sporcu Değer Yönelimleri, Sportmenlik
