Abstract :Yıllarca süren istikşaf çalışmalarına rağmen, Türkiye Trakyası'nda şimdiye kadar, ekonomi bakımdan önemli petrol miktarlarının meydana çıkarılması mümkün olamamıştır. Bu yazımızda önce Türkiye Trakyası'nda ekonomik bir petrol birikmesi sonucunu verememiş olan nedenler kısaca ele alınacak ve bundan da Istranca silsilesinin kuzeydoğu şelf sahasının «petrol ümitli» olduğu sonucu çıkarılacaktır.
