Abstract :It is observed that individuals are affected by various factors in their political decision-making processes, and that these factors directly contribute to the process of obtaining information and the resulting decisions. In this process, individuals\\\' political participation; Political campaigns are influenced and shaped by different platforms such as traditional mass media and social media, and they take political actions through these means. Social media can make significant contributions to democratic processes by accelerating the flow of information and increasing participation. However, risks such as misinformation and manipulation complicate the effects of social media on political participation. Therefore, conscious and responsible use of social media is critical for healthy democratic participation. In this study, political participation and the factors affecting this participation were examined in detail through a literature review. The research aims to contribute to the literature in these areas by revealing the relationships between political participation and political communication, traditional mass media and social media.
