Abstract :The earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş has revealed what needs to be done in disasters. Although many aid and search-rescue teams were sent to the region, there were coordination problems. The question arises as to why the HRM functions, which were formed by the evolution of the concept of personnel management developed by the USA to manage labor problems in the military field in the First World War, are not used by experts. At this point, “Why are HRM practices not used for coordination in disaster areas?” the question is noteworthy. The study is aimed to show the importance of HRM in disaster coordination. The research was completed using the qualitative method based on secondary data sources. As a result of the study it was concluded that for disaster management to be successful, HRM practices and, naturally, HR managers should take active duties and responsibilities in all stages of disaster management.Keywords : İnsan Kaynakları Yönetimi, İnsan Kaynakları Yöneticisi, Koordinasyon, Afet Yönetimi
