Abstract :This article assesses the transatlantic relationship between the European Union insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(EU); and United States insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(US); by focusing on their role in the international arena particularly in the Middle East and North Africa regioninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MENA); In this connection, security concerns, interests and aims of these two powers in this region, their different approaches and the factors which leads to divergences in their approaches to this region, rivalry between the EU and the US, and finally changing international environment which might lead to closer relationship between these two powers are evaluated.
